CERTIFICATIONS
Food safety is one of our top priorities, so when you purchase Lochhead Vanilla, you can rest assured that all of our products are made at our state of the art BRC Certified (GFSI) manufacturing facility. We also offer Certified Organic Vanillas under the USDA NOP, and all of our products are Kosher Certified by the OU.
USDA certified organic foods are grown and processed according to federal guidelines addressing, among many factors including soil quality, pest and weed control, and use of additives. Organic producers rely on natural substances and physical, mechanical, or biologically based farming methods to the fullest extent possible. Produce can be called organic if it’s certified to have grown on soil that had no prohibited substances applied for three years prior to harvest. Prohibited substances include most synthetic fertilizers and pesticides.
The word kosher means proper or acceptable, and it has informally entered the English language with that meaning. But kosher laws have their origin in the Bible, and are detailed in the Talmud and the other codes of Jewish traditions. The OU (Orthodox Union) Kosher is the world’s largest and most widely recognized kosher certification agency.
